Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents
Specific support for your child.
There are common developmental challenges that can be expected as part of a young person’s life. Sources of stress such as identity, peer groups, expectations of achievement, relocation may begin to be difficult to manage alone. This may increase the chances of behavioral and or emotional changes in the young person. In many cases, parents may notice changes in the young person’s ability to manage day to day emotionally. Psychotherapy as an intervention can offer insight into the internal working of the young person.
We start our work with an assessment of the child and the family so we can get an understanding of the wider context of the problems being experienced. This is conducted in an efficient and targeted way.
Child and adolescent psychotherapy can help children and adolescents overcome their problems with the aim of giving parents insight in to how they can best help their child. We work with you to determine the goal of the treatment, an important question being “what would you need to see if the situation were to be improved” with regular review the situation.
This includes revisiting the goals alongside seeing how these may have been reached or changed. We offer both psychotherapy for children/adolescents and family therapy.
Confidentiality is treated with the upmost importance.
